호주에서 영화를 보거나 TV를 볼 때, 컴퓨터 게임을 할 때에도 화면 맨 처음 꼭 보이는 화면이 있는데요.

바로 위의 그림들 중에 하나죠...

한 마디로 말하자면 바로 관람등급을 의미한답니다.

시청자의 입장에서 모두들 한 번 쯤은 저게 무슨 의미인지 궁금하셨을 것 같아서 오늘은 좀 더 자세히 알아보려고 합니다.

General (G)

-모든 연령이 시청 가능한 등급

G – suitable for everyone.
The content is very mild in impact.

The G classification is suitable for everyone. G products may contain classifiable elements such as language and themes that are very mild in impact.

 ​Parental Guidance (PG)

-어린이도 시청 가능하나 보호자 필요 가능 등급

PG – not recommended for children under 15; may contain material which some children find confusing or upsetting.

The content is mild in impact.

The impact of PG (Parental Guidance) classified films and computer games should be no higher than mild, but they may contain content that children find confusing or upsetting and may require the guidance of parents and guardians.

Mature (M)

-15세 미만 관람 불가 등급

M – not recommended for children under 15; may include moderate levels of violence, language or themes.
The content is moderate in impact.

Films and computer games classified M (Mature) contain content of a moderate impact and are recommended for teenagers aged 15 years and over. Children under 15 may legally access this material because it is an advisory category.

Mature Accompanied (MA 15+)

-15세 이상 관람 등급

MA 15+ - Restricted - unsuitable for persons under 15; may contain strong content.
The content is strong in impact.

MA 15+ classified material contains strong content and is legally restricted to persons 15 years and over. It may contain classifiable elements such as sex scenes and drug use that are strong in impact.

Restricted (R 18+)

-성인 관람 등급

R 18+ - Restricted to adults. The content is high in impact

R 18+ material is restricted to adults. Such material may contain classifiable elements such as sex scenes and drug use that are high in impact. Some material classified R18+ may be offensive to sections of the adult community. A person may be asked for proof of their age before purchasing, hiring or viewing R18+ films and computer games at a retail store or cinema.

Restricted (X 18+)

X 18+ -  films are restricted to adults.

This classification is a special and legally restricted category which contains only sexually explicit content. That is, material which shows actual sexual intercourse and other sexual activity between consenting adults.
